DESCRIPTION:  \n \nCome experience nature through music and art! \nJoin us at the Millard learning Centre (10825 Porlier Pass Road\, Galiano Island) on Sunday\, August 24th from 1:30pm to 5pm\, for the 13th annual Musical Walkalong! \nThis family-friendly event features a walking route through scenic forest trails at the Galiano Conservancy\, followed by a celebration in the afternoon at the Millard Learning Centre\, featuring locally made food and beverages\, as well as a performance by the Coastal Blood Singers. Experience live music and art in the great outdoors\, and enjoy a day filled with creativity and nature. \nFor children\, we are pleased to provide a special scavenger hunt\, as well as other kid-friendly activities organized by our stellar education team! \nThe Musical Walkalong is inclusive and welcomes everyone (including leashed pets). Limited parking is available on site\, prioritized for people with limited mobility. We encourage other Walkalong visitors to carpool\, or park along Porlier Pass road to ensure everyone can access the site. \nThe hall in the MLC classroom building is equipped with an access ramp and gender-neutral bathrooms\, and shaded areas will be provided for those who want to stay out of the sun during the Main Stage performance. \nThe MLC parking lot is equipped with two high-speed EV charging stations\, as well as bike parking and a bike repair station. \nTickets are sold on a sliding scale basis\, ensuring that no one is turned away at the door due to cost. DESCRIPTION:Come see the new Quadra Hill property on a guided hike\, review the draft stewardship plan\, share feedback\, ask questions and enjoy light refreshments! Please be aware that the Quadra Hill nature reserve has no washrooms or running water\, and all dogs must be on a leash. \nSee schedule below! \n\n\n1pm– A moderate guided hike to see different areas of the property. \n Location: Meet at MLC 12:45pm to ride the community bus to the site (Melissa and McCoskrie neighbours are welcome to meet at the end of Melissa Rd) \n1:45pm- Community bus returns to MLC for presentations. \n2pm– Open House at MLC classroom. Staff and board members will be present with displays and light refreshments. \n2:30pm– Draft stewardship plan presentation by staff. \n3pm– Community members are invited to ask questions and provide feedback on the draft stewardship plan. \n\nWe hope to see you there!
