Workshop Details

Three days of professional development for K-12 educators on Galiano Island! Learn how to take your class outside and build your confidence as an outdoor educator while exploring Galiano Island’s beautiful forest & sea ecosystems. Learn hands-on skills in environmental interpretation, field sciences and outdoor classroom management & safety.  Take home new resources, outdoor games & BC-curriculum linked activities that you can apply in your classrooms. Socialize and have fun with fellow teachers from across BC! 

Workshop Dates: Friday, August 11 – Sunday, August 13th 2023. Option to camp overnight a day before the workshop begins (Thursday, Aug 10th). 

Location: Millard Learning Centre (10825 Porlier Pass Road Galiano Island, BC)

What’s included?

Accommodations: Camping at the Millard Learning Centre’s Frontcountry Campground. 

Meals: Catered plant-based breakfast, lunches & dinners for the duration of the Camp. 

Pro-D Hours: 9h of instruction time over three days with lots of breaks so that you have time to explore Galiano Island on your own or with your friends
