Education
school programs

It’s that time of year!

Welcome back to school, teachers.

We’re looking forward to another year of hands-on outdoor education programs with you here on beautiful Galiano Island.

The Galiano Conservancy Association specializes in curriculum-based, local, environmental science programs. We are a leader in creating experiential programs about Garry oak and Douglas fir forest ecology, sustainable agriculture, intertidal life, and  forest ecosystem restoration.

Our programs take place all over Galiano Island in the Southern Gulf Islands, and our home base is the Millard Learning Centre, a 188-acre showpiece of sustainable living and experiential learning.

Print copies of our beautiful new school programs brochure are on their way to 820 schools in our region. You can download your own PDF copy and get a scoop on our new programming offer. The elementary brochure is here, and the secondary brochure is here

We offer one-day programs (easily scheduled from Victoria and the Lower Mainland)  and overnight adventures of up to three days.

This year, we’re excited to be piloting a new multi-day experiential program, The Future of Food Field School, in which students dig into sustainable, climate-resilient agriculture in Galiano’s own Forest Garden. Students will gain hands-on experience with earth-friendly farming techniques, in a space that mimics natural, local ecosystems.

And as a special back-to-school gesture, we’re offering a discount to the first 20 schools who book a program online with us. Use the discount code back2school when you reach the checkout of our booking system, and you’ll receive 10% off your entire booking. The offer expires October 1, 2017.

Please feel free to give us a call for more information, or if you have any questions.
