Getting their hands dirty in our cutting-edge Food Forest through activities like planting and harvesting, students will get practical experience with renewable food systems and agriculture practice, and understand the environmental, social and economic significance of sustainable agriculture. The program starts with a hike through forests at our Millard Learning Center, where multiple layers of forests are studied and discussed. The hike ends at our Food Forest where the various layers are also considered and compared to the previous forest. In depth lessons follow on edible species, soil health and permaculture!
