Kamilla is working as an Ecosystem Technician for the Galiano Conservancy this May and June. She has a degree in Marine Biology and Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria. In the past year, she has been working in environmental research and consulting, with a focus on watershed security, marine ecology, and community-driven collaborative research. Kamilla is from the Sunshine Coast, the unceded traditional territories of the shíshálh Nation and the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw. When she’s not snorkeling in the kelp or hopping on her bicycle, Kamilla likes to blend ecology and art, and share her curiosity about the natural world through local species paintings and photography.
