Maroussia joins the Galiano Conservancy this summer as an Outreach and Conservation Assistant. Having grown up on Galiano Island, she feels a deep connection to its natural landscapes, community, and way of life. She is excited to contribute to conservation efforts while expanding her knowledge and skills through hands-on experience with the Conservancy. Maroussia is passionate about nature, travel, and the ocean, and can often be found enjoying a summer swim or sunset by the water. Over the past two years, she has lived and travelled in Europe while also working as an English teacher. This fall, she plans to begin university studies and is grateful for the opportunity to spend the summer reconnecting with the island she calls home and helping protect the environment and community she cares about so deeply.
