
Liner Wetland Creation Workshop

Where: Millard Learning Centre: 10825 Porlier Pass Road, Galiano Island
Cost: FREE
Join with Galiano Conservancy staff and volunteers to help us install our first-ever educational wetland next to our classroom facility! We’ll learn how to install a wetland (or pond) using a synthetic liner, from start to finish, including:
– excavation
– liner installation
– planting with native species
– aquascaping for biodiversity.
This will be a *FREE* all-day outdoor event. Please bring a lunch and weather-appropriate clothing
Please RSVP to GCA Restoration Coordinator Adam Huggins at restoration@galianoconservancy.ca so we know how many people will be attending. Attendance will be capped at 20 people.
COVID 19 Safety – A washroom facility, handwashing stations, and sanitizing stations will be available. This event will be fully outdoors, and physical distancing will be observed. Masks and gloves are recommended.
